You know the pattern. You joined a SaaS company to build relationships — and ended up forwarding emails between clients and an invisible delivery team. The product demo looks polished. The roadmap deck is impressive. But when something breaks, you cannot explain what is happening because you are not in the room where work actually gets done.

Humans still deliver. You are the face in the sales call and the apology in the escalation thread — but not the person clients trust day to day. That is the old model. Alter AI is building the next one — and we are hiring Relationship Managers who want to be on the right side of the shift.

The old model: you are a relay, not a relationship

In traditional SaaS and dev agencies, client-facing roles often look like this:

• Sales closes. You inherit the account.
• Delivery happens elsewhere — offshore, internal, or buried in Slack channels you are not in.
• The client portal is a billing page, not a working window into their project.
• You translate frustration into tickets and wait for someone else to respond.
• Context dies in email threads — and you take the blame when it does.

If you are good at your job, this is exhausting. You can sense when clients are losing trust. You know the problem is not your tone — it is the model. The company sells software or services, but humans still carry the delivery load in the dark, and you are not allowed to face clients with real answers.

We built Alter AI because we were tired of that too.

The Alter AI model: you talk to clients. The engine does the heavy lifting.

Alter AI is not another SaaS wrapper. We run on alterai.os — a proprietary agentic engine that orchestrates requirements, architecture, development, QA, and deployment. Clients do not rent a dashboard and hope humans click the right buttons. They commission outcomes. Agents execute. Humans approve.

Your role as a Relationship Manager sits at the centre of that model — but on the client side, where you belong:

• You talk to clients through the alterai.os client portal — status, billing, messaging, scope. One pane of glass. No black box.
• Product Managers talk to the engine — specs, priorities, build decisions stay in alterai.os, not scattered docs.
• You and PM stay aligned — two-way communication so client context never gets lost between relationship and delivery.
• The engine connects portal to infrastructure — your cloud, your data — with full visibility for everyone who needs it.

You are not a ticket router. You are the person clients know, trust, and hear from — backed by a system designed for transparency.

What you will actually do

This is a full-time Relationship Manager role — remote-friendly, with Chennai as our home base.

Day to day:

• Own the client relationship from kickoff through delivery and beyond
• Run check-ins, onboarding, and billing conversations through the client portal
• Capture client needs in language the product team and engine can act on
• Stay synced with Product Managers so scope, timeline, and expectations stay honest
• Escalate when human judgement is needed — because agents propose, humans approve

What we are looking for:

• 2+ years in client success, account management, or B2B relationship roles
• Experience in SaaS or software services — ideally with firsthand frustration at opaque delivery
• Clear, empathetic communication; you like talking to clients directly
• Comfort in a fast-moving company where the product model itself is evolving

Bonus if you have seen the gap between what was sold and what was delivered — and you want to fix it from the inside.

Why now

Software is shifting from SaaS (rent a tool, humans operate it) to GaaS — Generation / Agentic AI as a Service (describe an outcome, agents execute, humans supervise). That shift changes what client-facing roles mean:
